| Debut: This course is for first-time or novice Pilates students. In this class, we will learn basic Pilates mat exercises. Students will learn correct body placement and breathing patterns in order to move naturally throughout everyday movement. Slow-paced. Standard repetitions of exercises. Some progression of exercises. Ages 15 and up Required materials: pilates, yoga, or fitness mat Recommended items: towel Danse! Pilates for Dancers I This class is for first-time to Intermediate Pilates students who are also trained dancers. All Pilates exercises focus on building a strong core, but in this class we will learn Pilates Mat exercises requiring stability, which is essential to a dancer’s needs. Moderate pace. Standard to slightly increased repetitions of exercises. Progression of exercises. The class will conclude each time with a short piece of choreography to practice using the Pilates method while performing. Ages 15 and up Required materials: pilates, yoga, or fitness mat Recommended items: towel |
